Bone On Bone

Bone on bone, ground to stone.
Friction maximized, grinding fractionalized.
A wearing down, a feeling drowned.
Reconstruction, the only solution.
Destruction, the final delusion.
Failing parts, flailing darts.
Moving targets, flame-free cigarettes.
Distractions and opioids, blameless and victimized.
Illusions of grandeur, tall tales of candor.
Heroes unfolded, children scalded.
Obelisks to gaze at, wires to raise nets.
Hairdos and masks, feasts and casks.
Amplified voices, restricting free choices.
Life worn of skin, rocks made of tin.
